Our platform lets you invite friends and family to send payments that directly pay down your student loans.
Do you talk about your student debt with your family? It often goes undiscussed, especially with extended family such as grandparents, aunts, and uncles. If your family knew that your debt is a struggle or is causing you to delay big life goals, they may want to help. Connect with them by sending a no-commitments invitation through Aunt Betty. It’s never too late to start a dialogue.
The Aunt Betty Fund provides a secure platform where you can start a campaign and invite friends & family to help pay down your student debt. Here’s how it works.
Registering your profile is the first step to setting up your campaign. Once registered, you can choose either a monthly or lump sum campaign goal, to let your invited family and friends know how much help you need.
Get RegisteredOnce you set up your profile, set a goal, and add a loan that you would like to pay down, you can invite family & friends to contribute, either through our email system or a shareable link that you can send yourself.
Once your campaign begins receiving contributions, The Aunt Betty Fund sends your payments directly to the loan servicer to pay down the debt.
Aunt Betty personifies a family member who stands out for their kindness and generosity.
The Aunt Betty Fund was named for our founder’s great aunt, Elizabeth Butler. She was raised in an orphanage and, as fortune had it, became a single mom. Late in life her retirement check of $125 a month was barely enough to cover food and rent. Into her eighties, she had to work at Goodwill Industries to pay her other expenses. Still she managed to stuff $20 into each birthday card. Aunt Betty was generous beyond her means. And happier for it.
